At Tembo NYC, we turn our passion for causes into statement pieces that makes an impact.

Collaborating with female artists, our unique art is designed to create awareness of an issue in a positive way. Standing by our convictions, 5% of the profits will go to the non-profits that work to serve those causes.

UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE

Where words fail, music speaks.

From Aretha’s, “Respect” to Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Goin’ On” to U2’s Sunday Bloody Sunday, the power of music to spur change and expose social injustice is enormous. The power of music to help create meaningful change is something we deeply believe.

Supporting the performing arts
5% of our profits will go to the legendary Apollo Theatre—the soul of American culture—that plays a vital role in cultivating emerging artists and launching legends.

QUEEN RBeeG

Paying Homage to our Queen, RBG

Queen RBeeG, Tembo’s NYC’s print honoring women empowerment, combine symbols of woman leadership and strength to serve as a reminder to be fearless, and feminine. RBG’s inspirational quote, “Women belong in all places that decisions are made” accentuate the visual message.

Supporting a woman's right to choose
In response to the threat of women losing their constitutional right to abortion by overturning Roe v. Wade, (RBG’s Legacy), 5% of our profits will go to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

ELEPHANT FAMILY

(Tembo means elephant in Swahili)

The most powerful force of nature is a woman's right to protect

Elephant females live together with their young in tight-knit family groups led by a warrior and protector matriarch. Tembo’s elephant print represents this family relationship.

Supporting saving Elephant lives
Elephants in Africa are threatened by poaching, loss of their habitat and increased human-wildlife conflict. That is why 5% of our profits from “Elephant Family” proceeds will go to Bhejane Trust a non-profit organization working to keep wildlife watered and safe in Zimbabwe’s National Parks.

EARTHLY TREASURES

The earth is a fine place and worth fighting for

Looking at climate change through the lens of travel, our Earthly Treasure print puts a spotlight on The Great Barrier Reef, The Amazon and Venice; 3 earthly treasures, that will be lost forever if we don’t take actionable steps against Climate Change.

Supporting those who fight to save our planet
5% of our Earthly Treasures profits will go to the NRDC, a top rated non-profit fighting everyday for environmental justice.

AFTER HOURS

Long live NYC!

A pizza rats, bodega cat, cocktails and late night eats combine to create “After Hours”, Tembo’s gritty visual bouillabaisse of things that happen in NY, after hours. For better or worse, it’s why we love NY and why we crave this crazy city when we’re away.

Supporting NYC's local communities
As New York would be nothing without it’s vibrant communities and people, 5% of our profits will go to New York Cares, meeting pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service.

EAT. CRAVE. LOVE.

Eating, the democratic way.

Anthony Bourdain was a champion of regular people and in a fractured world he showed us how a simple meal could bring us together. He taught us all a new way to travel and to appreciate the common foods served on the streets of New York, the floating markets in Bangkok and the small cafes of Rome. He did not urge us to travel to find the fancy, but to search for more simple dishes that constituted a good, hearty meal. He taught us democracy through eating and sharing a simple meal. His legacy lives our hearts and our print, Eat. Crave. Love.
5% of our profits will go to World Central Kitchen, providing meals to people who need them the most.
